The first step was to calculate the incline at low tide to ensure that at all tide levels, the ramp's incline wasn't too severe for someone to return a wheel chair to shore. In this case the ramp was extended using sixteen foot lumber to reduce the grade. Double runners in the ramp’s framing, and 2x12s used as edging, makes the ramp itself heavy enough to add a little more stability to the dock.
